Your New Role…
The Accounting Manager of the Corporate Operations Accounting team will lead a team of ten to fifteen professionals based in Hyderabad City office and report to the Associate Accounting Director based in Hyderabad, as well as Finance contacts across WBD’s global offices. This position will support the day-to-day accounting and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet. The Manager will review the team’s journal entries for accruals and manual ad hoc entries, monthly and quarterly variance explanations, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing internal and external reporting schedules. This role will ensure all deliverables are completed timely, accurately, and will sign off on necessary close and control requirements. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and a high level of professionalism and accountability to communicate financial information to Finance and Operational partners at all levels throughout the company.
Standard working hours for this role will be from 11:00am – 8:00pm (local time). However, during the month end close and transition, additional efforts will be required to ensure overlap of India and US time zone.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Lead the continuous improvement of cash management processes and documentation
Lead monthly close process and oversee and review journal entries and adjustments for the corporate accounting function. Areas of focus include but not limited to cash and requires constant communications with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury and Operations with results that impact all segments of WBD.
Ensure financial controls are operating effectively including ownership of SOX controls relating to cash.
Manage, coach and develop the Cash Management team in the execution of their responsibilities
Provide recommendations on cash management best practices
Maintain timely, accurate & effective communication with all local cash handling control managers in the department.
Manage day-to-day cash position to ensure adequate liquidity to meet immediate cash disbursement requirements;
Analyze existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide guidance to the team on how to implement those changes.
Lead special projects and proactively develop accurate ad hoc analyses for management to make informed decisions. Including assisting in the system implementation of SAP S/4HANA and redesign processes that are currently performed in Peoplesoft. Review and maintain accounting process documentation.
Assist with team administration: feedback, development, training, assessment.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent
Experience in similar positions (7+ years).
Fluent in English
Ability to adapt to dynamic and uncertain environments (flexibility and prioritization).
Proactivity and accountability.
Proficient in Excel and other MS tools.
Abilities to develop interpersonal relationships.
Preferred
CA and/or CPA or MBA
Experience in working under matrix organization structure
Experience in Media Industry, Big Four firms or global companies
Experience in SAP/Peoplesoft or other ERP systems
Experience in Hyperion, SmartView, EPM and other database tools
Experience in Blackline/Cadency Certification
