  Position Summary:

  The Manager, Care Response Group ensures that proper support is provided to our guests and crew following events and incidents where the needs can no longer be provided by the vessel. This is accomplished using the Care Team assets, which includes both the Shipboard Care Team Associates and the Shoreside Care Team Specialists. This role is a parallel function of Situational Management, where the incumbent is responsible for all deployments of the Care Team associates and Go Team assets when the situation rises to the level of an on-site incident management. Some examples are medical emergencies and evacuations, emergency disembarkation, death, missing persons, crime victims, and other difficult circumstances, as well as natural and man-made disaster and critical incident support on scene.

  In addition to the Manager's regular work schedule, the Manager will have an "on-call" schedule. During the Manager's "on-call" time, the Manager will wait to be engaged, meaning, that the Manager can use their time freely and is not performing specific assigned tasks, however, will be available by telephone and/or e-mail if needed to respond to incidents, as described above. The Manager, Care Response Group shares the Situational Management Sitrep liaison to initiate the first step in addressing an incident, crisis, or strategy that provides a mitigating solution to the problem at hand, i.e., an environmental concern, itinerary change, or a situation impacting operations.

  This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Develop a network to ensure the availability of counseling, social service agencies and crisis intervention agencies worldwide that are able to assist our guests and/or crew in a time of crisis.Develop, document, and implement Care Team procedures and SQM policies to ensure they remain current. Develop and execute training for the Care Team Specialist, Care Team Associates, Go Teams, while provided preventive and awareness training to shoreside stakeholders.Manage the shoreside Care Team SpecialistsDevelop and oversee the deployment of the Care Team Associate Program fleet wide.Coordinates and manages all Care Response Group deployments activities as part of Situational Management during large scale incidents or whenever activated by leadership. The Manager will be responsible for identifying and providing support to those individuals deployed to the scene or satellite locations and report to Leadership on a daily basis any updates relevant to the situation.Develops, coordinates, and conducts training and exercises to enhance the Teams' position to respond and address critical incidents under the Situational Management on-scene response umbrella.Provide guidance to on-site leadership during emergencies and coordinating relief efforts. This often includes communicating with first responders, meeting with public officials and securing relief funding for government agencies.Collaborates effectively with various peers, Company stakeholders, individuals, agencies inside and outside of the department. Acts as a liaison between Campus' footprints in time of disaster preparation, clean-up and planning while executing all emergency response plans.Manages and develops, modifies, assesses, enhances, and implements Crisis Response Plans.Share the Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities with the Manager, Situational Management on 24 hours/7 days a week Support Line that addresses Care Response Group and Situational Management calls.Perform other related operational or administrative duties as assigned or requested by the Director, Intelligence, Investigations & Situational Management.During the activation of the Incident Response Center, the incumbent is essential personnel and will hold a position within the Incident Command Structure (ICS) to manage critical incidents or natural disaster effecting the Royal Caribbean Group. The incumbent will work in tandem with the Manager, Situational Management, when personnel deployments are being considered and/or personnel are deployed, to ensure the effectiveness and accountability of the deployable assets.The Incumbent will be responsible for leading a number of on-site and deployed assets assigned to mitigate Company emergencies and effectively manage ongoing critical incidents, while ensuring that the Company Executives are briefed. Performs other duties as required. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.   Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or directly related experience.Prior experience of working with, or as an employee of, travel insurance or travel assistance companies preferred.Must be able to travel ad hoc.Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule.Additional languages preferred.Knowledge and understanding of available counseling, social service agencies and crisis intervention agencies worldwide who would be able to assist our guests and/or crew in a time of crisis.Exceptional communication skills and ability to teach and train on issues related to identifying people in crisis and the support systems available.Self-driven to continually improve and actively works to bridge gaps in their knowledge in order to add more value to a particular project or setting.Proven analytical and/or situational management experience with major corporation, public service, or private sector. Maritime experience preferred.Experience in providing expert analysis to executive leaders in support of the organizations mission.Experience in Everbridge or other Event Tracking Systems, as well as other Notification and Event Management System preferred.Experience in working within a Global Security Operations Center, as part of a crisis response group, or leading teams preferred.Experience in coordinating projects across multiple departments or in big teams is preferred.Knowledge and experience in incident/situation management and understanding of the FEMA ICS Process. ICS 100-700 Certification a plus.Advanced proficiency in the utilization of personal computers within a Windows environment including e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and related printers and equipment as well as Incident Management/Event Logging systems.Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of employees and management in a multi-cultural environment.Excellent writing and analytical skills to provide quality work with minimum direction.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, clients, guests and the general public.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to manage diverse projects concurrently within strict time constraints and work well independently.Highly organized in record keeping and maintaining internal and external communications.Solid ability to multi-task, prioritize and time manage.General proficiency with all Microsoft Office and Google SuiteStrong written skillsEmergency Department, Care Team or Critical Care experience preferred.Proficient typing skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Ability to work on tight deadlines.Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.Must be able to quickly adapt and excel in dynamic situations.Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.Ability to attend training events that fall outside normal work hours.Ability to work atypical schedules, both days and nights.Manages costs within budgetary constraints.Manages the processing of Care Team invoices and all financial related items.The Manager, Care Response Group is subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.This is an on-site position.Travel requirements in support of emergency operations are probable.
