ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in Berlin, Audible GmbH is looking for a Manager, Business Affairs EU. In this position, you will build deal terms and execute negotiations for our agreements with global and local original creators, authors, narrators, production vendors & celebrities across Germany, France, Italy and Spain. You will be responsible for all Audible GmbH’s commercial terms with Europe’s content creators and business development partners from the non-book world. The relationships will be developed in liaison with our Global, European & International Content Acquisition and Creative teams, to provide the leading spoken word catalogue for all our European audiences.
This position is a 24-month contract fixed-term contract.
As a Manager, Business Affairs EU, you will...
Manage the deal architecture, deal terms and day-to-day deal requirements for Audible EU’s owned and original content, with a special focus on specific marketplaces as and when required
Develop and improve the quality and efficiency of all our European deal terms, negotiations, and agreements to support our direct relations to content creators for German, French, Italian & Spanish spoken word content
Work hand-in-hand with our European legal teams on complex rights and contracts negotiation
Collaborate with the global cross functional teams to develop deal strategy, formulate key terms including all related analysis, strategizing and planning for a variety of complex agreements ranging from production to marketing commitments, and negotiations with local or global creators and celebrities

Basic Qualifications
Professional Degree (JD, MBA, M.A., M.S., or other post-graduate degree) in relevant field
5+ years of relevant experience in international intellectual property rights licensing businesses (preferably from the audio or wider media, television, film or computer game industry) to create cutting-edge agreements where there is no precedent
Strong experience in contracts drafting
Wide understanding of EU IP law
Business fluency in written and verbal English, additional European languages (French, German, Spanish or Italian) are a strong plus
A well-developed track record of conducting complex, high profile negotiations that rely on economic understanding and human interaction to achieve the goals of the company
Preferred Qualifications
Law Degree (LLB level)
An ability to inspire trust and followership in external vendors, internal team members and peers through passion, charisma, bias for action and intuitive drive towards an inclusive and emotional intelligent working environment
Experience in professional relationship building with creative individuals and organizations (e.g., Writers Guild, Actors Guild or equivalent, etc.)
Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
Ability to communicate clearly, pragmatically and persuasively, also under aggressive timelines, complexity and ambiguity of a global rights landscape and fast-moving business environment
Willingness to travel internationally for business
