Position Summary:
The Production Technology Design & Integration team is a group of Engineers and Project Managers responsible for, but not limited to, the design, planning, purchasing and configuration of production equipment and systems in Warner Bros. Discovery’s Production and Broadcast facilities. The Manager- Production Technology Design & Integration position is intended to oversee this team in daily tasks, manage the team in their assignments and to provide guidance and direction and reporting on new media project initiatives in the advancement of WBD’s media and production infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct technical and managerial oversight to lead an expanding project management and engineering team.
Provide Traditional Media Project Management Including Facility Infrastructure Change Management
Build, Test and Workflow Creation of Cloud-Based Media Systems (Transcode, Edit, Rendering, Delivery)
Media Systems Purchasing and Budget Management
Capital budget Planning and tracking.
Assist the team in the design and planning of new and upgraded production systems at WBD, including facility changes, equipment purchases, budget tracking and scheduling.
Create and/ or maintain templates for managing projects such as Master Equipment Lists (MELs), project scope documents and project schedule tracking.
Write and maintain engineering SOP’s pertaining to the operations and maintenance of broadcast and production systems including but not limited to plant routing systems, sync and reference systems, distribution and standards conversion hardware, fiber and satellite transmit/receive systems, VOD production systems, and other production related equipment.
Create, keep and maintain current technical documentation of facility, including CAD drawings, SOP’s and User manuals. Also, to include templates for managing projects such as Master Equipment Lists (MELs), project scope documents and project schedule tracking.
Assist team in tracking incoming equipment against purchase orders to confirm receipt and correctness.
Evaluate new technology and make recommendations regarding equipment selection, software selection and testing with the Operations Department.
Assist in the resolution of support requests and in performing infrastructure maintenance.
Assist with setting up demos and training for new or potential equipment and software.
Interface with vendors and clients and internal management teams.
Provide support to production staff as needed.
Ability to share knowledge and maintain relationships with other technical teams and facilities.
The ability to use monitoring tools (Service Now, Asset DB entry, Solarwinds, Splunk, SNMP, Ivanti Heat) working knowledge of NDIs and support ticket data entry and tracking.
Provide status updates, reports, and presentation to executive team for individual task and projects.
Other job duties, responsibilities, and project assignments as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to manage technical personnel, provide technical and personal guidance and manage communications between engineering groups, operations groups and management.
College Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Television Production preferred but not required. Or equivalent professional experience required.
5+ Years Broadcast Project Engineering, Broadcast/ Production system design, or Broadcast/ Production Project management.
Experience with a majority of the following: AutoCad 2018 or above, Microsoft Windows and Office, Microsoft Sharepoint, Lucid Charts or Microsoft Visio, non-linear editing applications (Avid, Adobe, DaVinci Resolve), media management systems, and new media encoding systems.
understanding or managing of a ticketing system such as Service Now
Thorough understanding of SD, HD, and UHD digital Video standards, as well as Digital Audio standards.
Thorough understanding of Digital video encoding and decoding transport streams such as SRT, NDI, J2K and other streaming & compression protocols and standards.
Understanding of Software Defined Video Networking and ST-2110 routing.
Understanding of Cloud-based technologies and platforms such as AWS and AZURE.
Organization and attention to detail.
Ability to follow through on support and project requests in a timely manner, escalating to other members of the team when appropriate.
Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to work independently and with other members of a team.
Proven oral and written communication skills.
Ability to create, read, and decipher system schematic drawings.
Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (50 lbs.).
Must have the legal right to work in the United States

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $98,910.00 - $183,690.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
