The Bank Regulatory Reporting team is part of the Corporate Controller's department, and is responsible for preparing and submitting the Company's regulatory financial reports and other performance metric disclosures. Reports are prepared for the corporation and its subsidiaries, including the parent holding company (The Charles Schwab Corporation), the broker-dealers, three bank charters, and multiple nonbanking subsidiaries. The group takes a team-based approach to prepare reports, and is looking for a new member to help support its reporting requirements and project initiatives. What you have
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years GAAP accounting experience, including specific experience with financial reportingExcellent analytical, organizational, presentation, and project management skillsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsPrior experience using Microsoft products with advanced working knowledgeStrong self-starter with excellent business judgement and ability to proactively problem solveDesire to take on leadership responsibilitiesPassionate about making your work environment more efficient and funOther desirable experience:Strong preference for relevant banking or financial services experienceExperience with Adenza (formerly Axiom SL/Controllerview) software a plusPublic accounting or consulting experience preferredAlteryx and/or SQL experience a plus
What you'll do:
Participate in a team-based approach process of preparing and reviewing regulatory reportsIndependently research and interpret regulatory rules, guidance, and instructionsSupport internal audits and regulatory examinationsPartner with other departments and teams to obtain necessary data and informationBecome a subject matter expert with enhanced working knowledge of specific regulatory reports and/or banking/broker dealer productsDevelop and implement product and cross-report analytics to enhance reporting accuracyWork with other functions and teams to ensure reported data aligns to regulatory requirements, and implement regulatory reporting changes Investigate and prepare responses to regulator inquiriesOther ad hoc requests and projects as needed
