Manager, Accounting Policy

Responsibilities:
Support accounting in interpreting and applying relevant accounting rules and guidance for Corporate Development initiatives including accounting research, presentation of findings, and documentation for acquisitions, dispositions, and contracts
Manage the Company’s consolidation process, which includes exposure to accounting, finance, and risk teams across the enterprise
Provide periodic assistance with Card, Auto, Retail, and Commercial lines of business
Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
Develop project plans, track completion, and communicate status to stakeholders on multiple workflows with competing priorities
Partner cross-functionally with customers as a subject matter expert, responding to ad-hoc requests
Support compliance activities
The ideal candidate contains a proficiency in technical accounting with a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of applicable accounting guidance and regulations, and possesses strong written and oral communication skills. A limited amount of travel to various Capital One corporate locations may occur.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in accounting, or in accounting integration, or in finance, or in audit, or a combination
At least 4 years of experience in project management or in product management
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years of banking or finance industry experienceAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
