POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance/Safety Lead is responsible for providing and overseeing maintenance functions for the facility, including building utility systems, equipment maintenance, and building maintenance. This position determines and coordinates the need for outside contractors, ensuring safety, environmental, work scope objectives, and departmental goals are being met including safety, project, cost, training, and quality objectives. The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure that daily operations are running effectively and efficiently.
This position will be located at our Nashville, TN Distribution Center, working Monday thru Friday. Occasional travel to our Distribution Center north of Salt Lake City, Utah will be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reviews/updates maintenance workload and priorities
Coordinate long-term maintenance/engineering solutions, projects, etc.
Interact with other Area Managers on safety, equipment or building related issues.
(Organize and Attend Manager, safety, maintenance and management review meetings.
Oversees maintenance/MRO purchasing employee evaluations.
Engage with outside contractors/vendors.
Schedule and implement short-term projects, machine upgrades and continuous improvement projects, etc.
Develop protocols for safety programs and systems to ensure safe and clean work environment
Implement training programs and systems to ensure employees are properly trained and have an understanding of a safe and healthy working environment across all phases of the location operations
Cultivate a culture where Matco Tools employees recognize, report and take appropriate actions to correct issues that do not meet company safety and environmental guidelines and work practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Training in safe lifting techniques and 5S for the department.
Establish work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives.
Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns always following company policies.

Ability to operate material moving equipment
Customer Service Skills and able to work with various suppliers/customers
Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair issues

Technical abilities, such as (but not limited to) basic carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical wiring and property maintenance
Computer use will be required, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
