This role requires full time on site presence.
Your role
As a Maintenance Technician, assigned by your supervisor or a technician from a higher group, you will perform duties associated with maintaining broadcasting and transmission systems/equipment, such as function-testing, configuring, installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and refurbishing, according to established standards, in a multidisciplinary environment that includes networking, electronics, and computer systems.
You will also be called upon to suggest installing new procedures, as well as executing a vast variety of tasks, while working with technologies ranging from analog and digital.
You will be required to work on a 24/7 shift on rotation with the other technicians on the team.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Qualifications:
College diploma (DCS) in electronics technology (audiovisual, telecommunications or computing systems option) or a relevant field
Minimum three (3) years' experience required, owing to the multidisciplinary environment
Competencies:
Solid background and experience with RF
Hands-on experience with telecommunications, broadcasting, transmission and satellite reception equipment
Certification in IP technology - related to new broadcast technology trends
Valid driver's licence (you will be required to regularly operate snowmobiles)
Available to travel all over Canada, including Nunavik and Nunavut
Available to work a 24/7 schedule including days, evenings and nights, 7 days per week
Very good knowledge of French (both spoken and written)
Knowledge of English an asset
Knowledge of DEJERO/Live U systems (an asset)
Knowledge of satellite and microwave newsgathering trucks systems (an asset)
Knowledge of television and radio studio control systems (an asset)
Ability to work easily with production and field teams s (an asset)
Mechanical knowledge (an asset)
