Maintenance Planner - Machinery
Job Summary:
The Marathon Los Angeles Refinery in Carson, California is looking for a Machinery Maintenance planner in the Routine Maintenance organization. The Machinery Maintenance Planner is responsible for the development of machinery and rotating equipment maintenance w o rk pa ck a g e s in a cc o rd an ce w i t h e st ab lis he d p r o c e ss e s. D e v e l op s de t a il e d w or k sc o pe s, p r epa r e s c o s t an d m an - hou r e stima t e s, and re q u is i ti on s mat e r i a ls. Identifies and implements continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities. Coordinates w ith en g in e e ring and maintenance su p e r v isors to develop complex job plans including necessary materials and documentation. Works w ith ope rati on s a n d m a in t e nan c e t o ma n a g e work order ba cklog.
The work schedule for this role is Monday to Thursday 6 AM - 4:30 PM. Routine Maintenance Planners rotate weekly on-call responsibilities and are on-call for one week approximately every three months and may support Refinery Outages as needed.

Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Must have at least 5 years of experience as a machinist with rotating equipment experience in a refinery, petro-chemical or otherheavy industry.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
Must have a valid driver’s license. (MPC determines valid status.)
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
Travel Requirement is 5 % or less.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous maintenance planning experience is preferred.
Previous SAP and Microsoft Office experience is preferred.
Prior supervisor experience is preferred.
