Opportunity We seeka Maintenance Mechanic to support our Agawam Manufacturing Facility.Reporting to the Mechanical Group Lead in Maintenance, the successfulcandidate will perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical updates andrepairs on our fastener manufacturing equipment, and suggestimprovements that will increase productivity. Responsibilities Performscheduled maintenance on production and packing equipment. Provideemergency and/or unscheduled maintenance as required. Assist with set upof equipment for scheduled production runs. Assist with machinerebuilds, installations and moves Fabricate machine repair, toolingparts, safety guards and other parts as requested. Perform additionalmechanical services as requested including mechanical, pneumatic andhydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packing and other productionequipment. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders toperform required maintenance and service. Comply with OSHA Safety andHealth standards and requirements. Identify and implement improvementsto existing policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned orneeded. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. 2+ yearsmechanical maintenance experience including: industrial mechanicaltroubleshooting and repair basic welding and cutting proceduresunderstanding of hydraulics set up and operation of general machinemaintenance shop equipment and tools correct use of machinistmeasurement tools Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematicdiagrams. Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipmentmechanically. Capable of overcoming obstacles and completing assignmentsin a timely manner. Strong working knowledge of industrial controls andinstrumentation preferred. PC skills including experience with MS OfficeSuite preferred. Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent timemanagement skills. Strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Abilityto walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger,handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms,climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Goodclose vision and depth perception skills. Industrial forkliftcertification preferred.
