Main Ingredients of the Job: As a US FOODS® Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a vital role in the upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment, ensuring the functionality of day and night warehouse operations for efficient shipping and receiving of products.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 am(Overtime possible)
Compensation: starting at $26.52 after 90 days goes to $29.99
Responsibilities:
Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on warehouse-related equipment (pallet jacks, high lifts, forklifts, etc.), dock doors, restraints, dock plates, freezer doors, and lighting.
Review equipment reports submitted by warehouse associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintain a repair log per USF policy.
Conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM) on equipment and maintain a PM log with proper documentation.
Comply with all USF and government guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment.
Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries, and other equipment.
Responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of the tool area.
If authorized, may purchase tools and other equipment needs from local vendors.
What You Bring to the Table:
Education/Training: High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
Related Experience/Requirements: A minimum of six months of previous mechanic experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of equipment repair and operation.
Welding ability.
Ability to read and understand vendor technical and repair manuals and wiring schematics.
Working knowledge of mechanics, electricity, carpentry, and plumbing.
Computer knowledge required (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be able to provide your own tools.
Experience with CMMS (Maximo) preferred.
Experience dealing with service supply vendors on scheduling and completing repairs.
5 years HVAC or Refrigeration experience preferred.
OSHA and PSM experience preferred.
