This is a full-time, hourly position.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is an hourly position and is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing machines/equipment. This role works 8hr shifts with overtime as necessary. Dayshift hours are 600a – 230p. Work hours are subject to change to meet business needs.
Facility Expectation:
Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
Ensure product quality expectations are met.
Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
Work with other colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate your key process indicator performance.
Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
Required to work overtime as specified by management.
Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
Work Duties:
Maintain general preventative maintenance schedules for the production and research areas.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, steam, water and air problems.
Ability to operate electrical meters, calibrators, and varies test equipment.
Responsible to maintain and troubleshoot electric motors and plant lighting.
Participate in the installation of new plant equipment.
Install and/or modify electric, air, water, and steam supply lines.
Modify the process flow to improve safety, quality and efficiency issues.
Maintain the building and surrounding facilities.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of developing, improving and maintaining process and safety interlocks
Notify Maintenance Supervisor immediately in the even issues arise that may cause production delays.
Responsibility to identify and communicate food safety and/or product integrity issues to appropriate personnel.
Meet or exceed KPI goals as set forth by management.
Ability to work on-call
Work in the most effective, efficient and safe manner at all times.
Demonstrate ability to act professionally and respect confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in maintenance or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical blueprints.
Capability of operating various mechanical equipment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Ability to act in a professional manner and adhere by ADM’s Code of Conduct
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
Required to climb ladders, work in confined space, and from varying heights.
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, and gloves when required
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditions
Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environment
Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
Good attitude and works well in team atmosphere.
Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
Complete JSA forms for all work before starting the job
Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
Handles other duties as required.
