Position Summary
The Maintenance Engineer/Manager is responsible to continually improve the reliability & efficiency of plant mechanical rotating and fixed equipment. Using a variety of tools & technology, the Maintenance Engineer/Manager is expected to enhance the company’s approach to predictive & preventative maintenance in our chemical processing facility. The Maintenance Eng/Mgr is responsible for developing the department CapEx and OpEx budgets and working in those budgets to achieve the company goals and objectives. This is a hands on position where this person will supervise two direct reports but they will also work directly maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of rotating equipment in a chemical manufacturing environment! Compensation for this position will include a base pay in the $110,000 to $120,000 range plus a 10% annual bonus at target along with absolutely world-class benefits. In addition to a very generous PTO plan awarded on day one, 100% company paid benefits like life insurance and LTD and more are also offered. Full relocation assistance is being offered for this position but sponsorship is not!
This person must have experience working with Chemicals and highly flammable materials along with typical experiences in the areas of LOTO, Confined Spaces, Hazardous Communications, & other related areas. This Chemical plant has extensive electrical, hydraulic, rotating equipment and mechanical systems that this person must be an expert with. They will perform failure analysis and root cause analysis and manage Millwrights and IE&C teammates. A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is required plus 5 years of experience in a chemical facility. A degree in Chemical Engineering is a big plus! Pay Range: $93,000.00 - $155,000.00
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Overseeing maintenance systems and strategy for entire site in a chemical pilot plant environment
Perform failure analysis and root cause analysis
Planning and scheduling all maintenance activities including annual shutdowns to ensure reliable operations
Ensuring all compliance-based inspections are completed and documented.
Leads project work as dictated by the needs of the research effort
Manage Maintenance Team (Millwright and IE&C)
Mechanical Engineering efforts for new processes and equipment
Participate and lead in cross functional and international teams
Manage the CMMS
Create maintenance procedures and documents as needed
Perform safety audits/inspections as required
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience in maintenance in a chemical manufacturing environment that includes handling of flammable materials, LOTO, confined spaces management and more
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, rotating equipment and mechanical systems
Ability to keep track of and report on activity
Experience in planning maintenance operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership and management skills
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required
Project Management and PSM experience are a plus
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience. Chemical manufacturing experience is required.
