Description
Leidos is seeking a software tester to test software products thoroughly to ensure that they perform as expected. The tester will primarily test applications supporting mainframe environments. This position will be part of a team of software developers and testers supporting the IRS.
Primary Responsibilities:
Includes defining and specifying the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of client’s software products
Understand user needs and tests software solutions through clear communication with product owner and technical or scrum team
Based on requirements, develop test plans and at the conclusion of the test prepares an end of test report
Tests complete Assembler application within a Mainframe environment re-tests results of bug fixes and security scans
Executes stringent unit testing of delivered code to verify that it meets all functional requirements. Oversee peer testing, as needed
Act as SMEs to support testing activities carried out by tests such as an Application Qualification Test (AQT) and System Acceptance Test (SAT) testing teams, ensuring that the software meets the functional requirements. Conducts final integrations testing, as needed
Uses Jenkins to deploy code and execute automated regression test, if applicable
Is a team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables
May be responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires BS and 4+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree/
Knowledge and experience in testing mainframe programs
Knowledge of Jenkins and the CLM Suite
Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply software testing principles, theories, and technical concepts and broad understanding of related specialties like test data management and test automation
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in software development
Experience testing software for IRS/Treasury
Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution
Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge
Communicates with internal and client project team members
Requires ability to obtain a Minimum Background Investigation, similar to a Public Trust Clearance and up to date on all tax filings and tax payments
This offer is contingent upon Leidos being awarded a task ordert under the IRS Enterprise Development, Operations Services (EDOS) contract/program.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
