Select from available supply the cutting tools and holders most appropriate for type of material and cuts to be made and when not otherwise specified have them altered if warranted to meet requirements or improve machining and prepare sketches of special cutting tools and holders, and arrange for grinding when required.
Apply machines to check dimensions and locations of less involved partial or fully completed parts and assemblies when necessary.
Add stiffeners and bumpers to setup, as necessary to support part rigidly and avoid vibration and distortion of thin walled or other flimsy parts from tool pressure.
Setup end measure to locate table and spindle as appropriate.
