JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SPECIFICS Title: Medical Assistant/CertifiedMedical Assistant/ Licensed Practical Nurse Wisconsin Heights ClinicFTE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) Schedule: Mondays - Friday, variablehours between 7:15AM - 5:00PM Holiday Rotation: None Weekend Rotation:None On Call Requirements: None POSITION SUMMARY The MA, CMA or LPN,under the direction of the physician or other designated licensed staff,provides routine patient care in an ambulatory setting. The MA, CMA, orLPN is able to work as part of a team and perform both clinical andadministrative duties. Clinical duties may include taking and recordingvital signs and medical histories, preparing patients forexamination/procedure, sterilization of medical instruments andadministering medications as directed by provider or designee.Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintainingmedical records and filling out insurance forms/paperwork. POSITIONTECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Manages patient flow and performs patientrooming workflows. 2. Demonstrates and understands infection control,sterile and aseptic techniques. Uses appropriate techniques in settingup or assisting with procedure. 3. Enters and processes all orders (e.g.diagnostic, office procedures) and assists in the scheduling ofprocedures. 4. Assists medical provider with processing of diagnosticresults. 5. Administers medications by all routes excluding intravenousinfusion. Demonstrates and understands administration techniques,recognizes and reports effects and side effects of medication, andinstructs patient appropriately. 6. Collects and records accuratetelephone information and relays it to medical provider or nurse in atimely manner. 7. Cleans, prepares, and autoclaves equipment andinstruments in preparation for sterilizations per infection controlpolicies and procedures. 8. Check inventory and order supplies asneeded. 9. Provides patient education only under the direction ofmedical provider or nurse. 10. Performs delegated MD/Nursing actscommensurate with education, training, competency and experience. 11.Schedule referrals/outpatient diagnostic procedures including patientprep information and coordinate prior authorizations 12. Collectlaboratory samples.
