Family seeks an organized and responsible individual to serve as a Live-in Home Care Aide from 7:30-11:30 AM and 2:30-7 PM (Mondays - Friday), and from 8 AM - 6 PM (Saturday), which equals 52.5 hours per week [excludes daily, one hour unpaid lunch break]. Duties include: i) managing the care of a primary age child with a rare genetic disorder; ii) administering medications as prescribed; iii) accompanying child to weekly physical, occupational and speech therapies and replicating and reinforcing therapy skills in the home setting; iv) carrying 45 lb. child within home and outside home in furtherance of schooling/therapy/medical care; and v) planning and preparing meals according to dietary restrictions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One-year of experience managing the day-to-day tasks associated with the care of a primary age child with severely limited communication, motor and cognitive abilities, specifically: administering healthcare-related care; ensuring medications are taken as prescribed; accompanying child to offices of therapists and physicians and replicating/reinforcing therapy skills in home; carrying a child (at least 50 lbs.); assisting with daily routine such as bathing, feeding, toileting, dressing and dental hygiene; and overseeing nutrition preparation/intake.
