Your New Role...
The Live Production Engineer requires a wide range of technical skills necessary to perform maintenance, installation, and configuration of broadcast and IT equipment in both studios and control rooms in a fast-paced IP Video production environment.
Hybrid on site and cloud production support of live and recorded programming requires a thorough systems knowledge of broadcast IT infrastructure which includes:
1) Technical spaces (control rooms, studios, central equipment rooms, cloud production platforms, and data centers) and
2) Associated production systems (A/V routing, signal processing, cameras, switchers, audio mixers, graphics systems, prompter systems, intercom, encoders/encoding, feeds/edit systems, production applications, control room automation, and transmission systems, etc.)
A strong baseline IT and data networking knowledge is also necessary to work in an IP Audio/Video and IT centric broadcast/multimedia infrastructure. This includes basic understanding of Operating Systems, AD and Permissions, basic network protocols and compute platforms.
Collaboration with team members, clients and other support groups is required to troubleshoot and resolve issues with broadcast/multimedia, compute, storage systems in our production environments.
This position will primarily provide facility-based support. However, as cloud production platforms grow an understanding of the configuration, networking, deployment, support, security, and operations of these systems is vital to the success of this role.
WBD Live Production Support teams operate within an ITSM Service Management framework, supported by common processes around planning and managing changes. Adherence to our standard ITSM processes to minimize impact and deliver value to our customers is required. This includes documenting issues/requests and escalating as needed for problem management and resolution via our enterprise service management system.
