The Legal Project Manager is responsible for leading the overall project management for complex global legal projects on AbbVie's Global Strategies and Policy Legal Team and will report into a Director, Legal Strategy & Policy.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Accountable for meeting project objectives on schedule and within budget. Uses foresight to anticipate roadblocks before they occur.
Collects and compiles project information and ensures information is correct and appropriately communicated; identifies appropriate follow-up activities and impact to Global Strategies and Policy Legal Team and business functional areas.
Sets agendas and conducts milestone meetings for ongoing projects.
Utilizes project scheduling software to plan and track projects; works with legal and business functional groups to develop the project steps; responsible to ensure information is complete and accurate.
Provides a focal point for implementation; assigns responsibilities with the Global Strategies and Policy Legal Team or business organizations as appropriate (internal and external).
Responsible for managing large cross-functional department projects, reviews all project processes and seeks ways to improve efficiency and timelines of project processing and deliverables.
Sets project priorities, develops project plan, and determines and secures necessary resource needs and reviews key decisions impacting budget/timelines with Global Strategies and Policy Legal Team management to provide recommendations for resolution
Has some degree of agency to achieve these objectives and maintain constant communication/interaction with stakeholders to ensure quick responses and satisfactory outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, specific project management or business training/certifications preferred.
Project management related experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills, executive presence and broad business orientation.
Proficient in project management practices, portfolio review and budgeting.
Strong Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and SharePoint skills.
Self-directed to achieve the team and project objectives.
