Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders.

What you will be doing as a Legal Intern :
The Meijer Legal Department’s mission is to listen and partner with our fellow Meijer team members to achieve their business goals using proactive, strategic, and creative solutions. The Legal Intern will support the Meijer in-house attorneys in fulfilling this mission.
The intern will learn from a variety of practical, real-world in-house counsel experiences including the following:
Opportunity to support one or more attorneys in the following areas: privacy, information security, artificial intelligence, and information management, including data classification and record retention
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda
Review and analyze caselaw, statutes, guidelines, and industry practices
Attend and participate in internal meetings and provide input on various Meijer initiatives
Assist with special projects
Learn about contemporary retail business strategy and tactics, as well as the complexities of providing risk-tolerant legal advice in a fast-paced environment
The intern may also get exposure to other activities of the function, including:
