Responsibilities
As a Legal Billing Coordinator your role is heavily focused on providing full-cycle billing support to the finance side of the firm.
You will be responsible for coordinating client invoicing and electronic billing through various client systems while understanding the firm's client processes and guidelines.
Responsible for understanding, handling, and responding to requests from attorneys, legal administrative assistants, and clients. Including: handling invoicing requests, adjustments, discounts, write-offs, template change requests, electronic-billing, etc. Manage all billing activities for assigned electronic billing clients, assigned attorneys, etc.Configure and maintain electronic billing profiles with assigned e-billing vendors including coordination of new matters, timekeeper and rate approvals, required task and activity code information, client billing guidelines, and reduced/rejected invoices.Monitor Accounts Receivable and unbilled time and costs to ensure timely billing and payment of client invoices. Consult with attorneys, and legal administrative assistants and utilize all of the functionality in the firm’s billing systems to identify solutions for meeting client billing requirements.Utilize reports and inquiry tools to respond to information requests.Deliver professional customer service and maintain positive working relationships with all contacts and proactively communicate with all parties and address any issues or concerns.
Qualifications
A successful Legal Billing Coordinator will not only have a team- playing, customer-centric mindset, but will possess the following qualifications:
Has a minimum of 3-5 years of full-cycle legal billing experience.Strong skills in electronic billing across a wide variety of client e-billing systems.Possesses robust knowledge of Aderant Expert legal billing solutions.Has solid experience in MS Office suite, including Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, subtotaling, accessing external data sources etc.).Must have a high level of communication and customer service paired with client and team relationship building skills.Demonstrates integrity and can maintain confidentiality of all financial matters.Has a thorough understanding of the firm and finance department policies and procedures and is able to identify issues and enforce compliance associated with such. Must be willing to work in office Tuesdays-Thursdays.
