The School of Education & Human Development will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for future appointments to temporary, part time, non-tenure-track positions in the School Psychology Program. Lecturers are limited to two courses per term.We are currently recruiting for the following course:SPSY 6350 - School-Based Interventions: Children, Youth and FamiliesThis is a face to face course on the CU Denver campus, in Fall of 2024 or possibly in future semesters. This course is designed to introduce doctoral school psychology students to the theory and practice of implementing evidence-based interventions in schools in order to improve the emotional, social, and behavioral well-being of children and adolescents. The course will examine theory and research related to counseling interventions and will expose students to direct, consultation-based common practice elements, and treatment approaches which address internalizing and externalizing behaviors in school-aged children. Through experiential activities, video modeling, and guided discussions students will better understand the importance of counseling intervention in the schools and develop culturally responsive implementation of evidence based practices. Feedback will help students develop their ability to provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic services to students and encourage self-reflection regarding their role in the counseling process.
