Job Description Summary

As a Leasing Consultant, you'll work to establish relationships with prospective tenants by going above and beyond to answer questions with accurate information, filling out necessary paperwork and providing opportunities to view the property among other responsibilities. You'll work with current tenants, too, to maintain a positive relationship and encourage renewal by inquiring about repair needs and following up as needed, having a positive attitude and interest in creating a community environment.
Job Description
Greets and qualifies prospects by covering all criteria.
Inspects models and available units every day.
Communicates related service needs to maintenance supervisor.
Update availability report, process applications for approvals. (e.g., credit check, rental history, etc.) Submits processed applications to the Senior Property Manager for approval. Follows up with applicant regarding status.
Demonstrates product knowledge to prospects for all communities by communicating and selling the features and benefits; closes the sale.
Secures new resident’s signature(s) on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in. Orients new residents to community.
Answers questions for residents about community, repairs, rent, rules, etc.
Prepares lease and complete appropriate paperwork and give to Financial Administration Manager for input.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Property Manager.
Education: High school diploma.
License/Designation/Certification: Apartment Management Designation such as National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) preferred.
Experience: Prior leasing or sales experience required.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Understands and aligns with fair housing laws along with state landlord tenant law. Customer service, marketing, closing, strong communicator, ability to self direct.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment and some weekends.
