Job Description:
Responsible for producing and interpreting reports and analytics in support of core Treasury activities, including interest rate, capital and liquidity risk management, funds transfer pricing, funding and capital markets activities, cash management, and various reporting functions. Identifies and implements technological solutions to automate these duties. Seeks continuous improvement through deeper analytical insights.
Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
What You’ll Do
Run liquidity processes such as monthly liquidity stress testing and annual liquidity risk limits and buffer sizing
Conduct analysis and modeling that supports Liquidity Management processes and engage with business partners in the development of liquidity strategies across a range of business as usual and stress scenarios
Support Discover’s Contingency Funding Plan by maintaining thorough documentation and participating in table-top testing exercises
Ensure compliance with liquidity governance requirements and develop subject matter expertise around liquidity regulations such as Dodd-Frank Enhanced Prudential Standards
Assist in the development of key strategic communications to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including ALCO, Board of Directors, and Regulatory Agencies
Analyzing/Developing short- and long-term funding plans, liquidity planning, Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR)
How You’ll Do It
Contributes to high-level reporting functions and develops key strategic communication to broad range of internal and external stakeholders, and provides timely updates that allow leaders to manage risks effectively.
Conducts a wide range of analyses that support all core Treasury activities
Takes primary responsibility for the accuracy, reasonableness, and consistency of data and assumptions used to model balance sheet activities while implementing appropriate controls.
Manages regulatory requirements and stays current with best practices to manage changes in such. Manages and articulates strategic objectives.
Learns and develops technology and data analysis skills and serves as a key resource to other Treasury analysts by teaching and promoting best practices in the same. Supports Corporate Treasury's technology initiatives to automate routine tasks and streamline work flows.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
4+ years of experience in Financial Analysis and or Banking/Financial Services or related field
Preferred
6+ years of progressively responsible experience in relevant work, especially using programming languages (Python or similar, SQL), statistical software (Stata, R, or similar), ALM software (QRM or similar) and web development languages (HTML, CSS, etc.); experience using Linux/Unix also preferred#LI-EB1

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
