Position Summary: The LeadTeacher (LT) is responsible for the daily programming for childrenenrolled in the Early Childhood Education Center at St. Joseph Academy.The role includes providing developmentally appropriate practices andhigh quality early care and education. The LT ensures that the needs ofchildren and their families are understood and communicated as theprimary SJA liaison. The LT implements the early childhood programwithin local, state and federal guidelines, rules, regulations and laws,Wisconsin licensing, and accreditation standards. Position Reports to:ECEC Director Qualifications: BA degree in early childhood education orrelated field preferred (Staff meeting minimum requirement of an EarlyChildhood Associates Degree, Child Development Associate (CDA) orsuccessful completion of 12 college credits in early childhoodeducation; must agree to obtain professional credentials within 2 yearsof accepting the position) 2+ years experience within early care workingin a licensed childcare setting Exemplary interpersonal, collaborative,and planning skills Interest and ability to support children and theirfamilies Ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implementsolutions Ability to work cooperatively with people in and outside ofthe Education/Childcare Services department Ability to communicate(verbally and in writing) and effectively interact with children, theirfamily members, management, and staff members Ability to respondpositively to work direction and guidance from others Ability to workindependently, managing multiple demanding tasks under criticaltimeframes Equipment Used: Office equipment: personal computers,printers, phone systems, fax machine, photocopier Physical and MentalRequirements: Must have ability to sit (25%), walk/stand (75%),routinely throughout the shift. Must be able to periodically lift up to50 lbs. Must have functional senses/manual dexterity to carry out thejob; communicate effectively; and use of office equipment. EnvironmentalConditions: Performs duties with exposure to infectious or communicablediseases inherent to care children, and occasional exposure to loud orunpleasant voices due to unpredictable behavior of the children andseasonal exposure to high humidity, heat and cold due to the internaland external environment.
