Steam Power- Services within Power Service Region India footprint is responsible for growth of Market Share (SAS), backlog & profitability in aftersales market of Steam Plants.
Field Service within Steam Power-Services is in-charge of execution, technical close-out, lesson learnt implementation, business growth support for various generator platforms covering both OEM & several oOEM fleets in Region India.
As Lead Field Service and Technical Advising Specialist-Generator, a key role within Field Service function, where you will have significant opportunity to demonstrate your strategic, creative problem-solving, technical, communication and process skills in a complex, global and fast-paced environment.
You will be required to perform successful execution of Turbo Generator outages/overhauling /on-site rewinding job assigned to you. You will have to work with cross-functional resources/teams to deliver outage execution at sites, lead outage planning for the successful site execution of the assigned scope.
Job Description
Roles and responsibilities
On-site execution of Turbo-Generator on-site servicing and rewinding job.To understand scope of work and liaise with subcontractor for manpower and tooling requirement at site.To help conduct outage readiness review.To Interact with cross functional team of Project Management & Sourcing to mobilize resources to site on time.To co-ordinate with Project Mangers and outage mangers to meet emergent requirements at site.To keep record of timesheets of freelancer winders and other experts deployed at site.To manage relationship with customers for seamless execution of the outage.To lead outages on emergency / requirement basis.To document lessons learnt during each outages.To prepare outage reports and ensure submission to customer within stipulated time.To help project managers in project close-out of the outage.To maintain outage related KPI with all relevant data during entire duration of the outageActive Participation in preparing FMEA (Failure Method Statements) for assigned outage.Lead EHS KPI i.e. Tool Box Talk, PoWRA, GPI, Stop work to ensure EHS compliance during execution of the outage.
Qualification/Experience
Technical degree/Diploma from a government accredited university/Institute/Institution.Min 8+ years of relevant experience in turbo generator mechanical assembly/disassembly, stator and field rewind and repairs.Should have strong technical background and hands-on experience in performing visual inspections, electrical tests, field and stator rewinds, and other general repairs on turbo-Generators of different OEMs.Should possess strong technical skills to read & interpret technical drawings, procedures, quality, and inspection documentation.Should be conversant with latest generator test methodologies and interpretation/analysis of test results and be able to recognize, predict and document potential failures.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Should possess skills to guide craft labour and winders during overhauls, rewinds, repairs and inspections.Clear thinker with an ability to focus on the "critical few" issue/priorities. Able to communicate messages clearly and concisely.Should be able to prepare outage scheduling, manpower & tooling requirement.Should possess good interpersonal & responsive skills to interface with customer, subcontractors, and team members.Should be willing to mobilize to project site frequently and at short notice.Should be willing to stay at outage sites for long periods.Extensive domestic and/or international travel to projects for various field assignments is required.Should possess good communication skills
