Job Description About This Role
As Biogen’s portfolio expands and our Global Clinical Supply Chain operation grows, we are looking to hire a Lead Supply Chain Planner to forecast, direct and manage investigational medicinal supplies for global study protocols. The planner is responsible for study drug supply per assigned protocols serving global patient populations in varied therapeutic areas across Biogen’s neurology and rare disease portfolio. Key job responsibilities are overseeing daily supply chain activities in global markets while serving internal and external customers. This position requires a high level of organizational skills, ability to work well independently and balance a diverse workload.
This is a hybrid role that can be based either in our Cambridge, MA office or RTP, NC office.
What You’ll Do
Be accountable for availability and distribution of finished goods per protocolDrive finished good packaging strategyDevelop manufacturing/inventory plan based on demandRoutinely identify and communicate supply risks to management and supporting teamsParticipate in vendor auditsSupport new hire training and mentor junior staffLead cross-functional projects such as process improvements and system implementations or enhancementServe as the single point of contact per protocol to internal and external stakeholdersInitiate and maintain import licensesManage deviations and quality eventsCo-develop IRT supply strategy Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at a minimum of 4 years working within the biotech/pharmaceutical, medical devices, food and/or another regulated environment.Demonstrated experience in supply chain planning.Demonstrated ability to administer and execute policies, processes, and procedures that affect colleague interactions and workflow of the unit.Experience working in a cGMP supply chain environmentKnowledge of GCP regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills Who You Are
You have strong communication and problem-solving skills with customer-focused mindset. You have supply chain knowledge with the ability to draw from past experiences to develop solutions to complex problems that require a moderate degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Problem solving requires a good understanding of links and interdependencies across multiple departments.
