Description/Job Summary
The Lead Specialist, Legal Talent is responsible for supporting management in all aspects of the Legal Talent department functions, with an emphasis on the Firm's Associate Mentoring and Advisor Programs and the evaluation process. This role is an integral part of the Firm's culture and serves as a resource for all associates and counsel.
Responsibilities/Duties
Partner with the Legal Talent and Professional Development teams to support the firm-wide Bi-Annual Performance Review processes.
Provide ongoing support to the Associate Director, Professional Development with respect to the Firm's Associate Mentoring Program.
Liaise with Professional Development leads in New York on mentoring and/or Advisor Program pairings for all incoming associates and laterals, and ensuring mentoring meetings take place. Liaise with counterparts outside New York to assist with mentoring-related responsibilities.
Act as a first line of defense in answering attorney questions and concerns, and escalate as appropriate.
Coordinate with departing attorneys in designated groups and conducting exit interviews as appropriate.
Liaise with attorneys in designated groups on the various leave of absence processes and coordinate with the Benefits and/or Workday Support Groups on facilitating proper leave administration.
Coordinate with the Legal Talent and Training teams on the onboarding and training programs for new associates ("STBReady").
Partner with the Legal Talent and IT teams on the introduction, enhancement and/or implementation of systems that should enhance our reporting capabilities and make core processes, including staffing, mentoring, reviews and others, more effective. Coordinate with the Legal Talent and Workday Support Group teams on the continued advancement of Workday's reporting and usage capabilities.
Support general Legal Talent team processes, including Legal Policy Handbook updates, intranet site updates and time-bounded work streams (e.g., practice group updates, compensation analysis) on a limited/as-needed basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail for both long and short-term projects and responsibilities
Must be team oriented, contributing as needed on unexpected projects or requests
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and comfortable working in web-based databases/software, e.g. viDesktop and Workday
Must be flexible to adjust hours to meet departmental needs

Salary Information
The estimated base salary range for this position is $110k to $125k at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
