LEAD RESEARCHER, CONSUMER RESEARCH – COMMERCIAL FOCUS AREA (G3)

ABOUT US:
The Consumer Research (CR) team within 84.51° uncovers the “why” that complements the deep behavioral understanding 84.51° uniquely delivers. Our focus is uncovering the “Why,” integrating it with the “What,” and turning these insights into human stories and business recommendations that compel actions to be taken that delight our customers in ways no other retailer can. We strive to consistently bring this human understanding to the business and serve as a strategic partner to leaders at 84.51°, Kroger, and our clients.
The CR team has a need for a Lead Researcher working with the Commercial Insights teams and CPG’s as the Consumer Research expert. The role is responsible for exceptional client and stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking on the scoping and design of consumer research and leading delivery of research projects. This role will have direct responsibility for leading CR for a Commercial Insights client tier.
As a Lead Researcher, you will be accountable for:
Being the consumer research expert consulting on research that builds trust and confidence in consumer research, project results and insights that drive business action. Engaging with clients and stakeholders/Insights Account Managers (IAMs) to define research needs and create the best solution to answer client’s business questions and objectives. Leading and collaboratively working with stakeholders to align on methods, project scope and delivery. Overseeing research execution and delivery per research best practices in all phases of the project plan (sampling, data collection, analysis, deliverable). Collaborating with teammates, cross functional partners, and external vendors to manage and progress projects. Guiding other members on the execution of the research and review their work along the project process to teach and elevate the teams’ skills. Driving increased efficiency in our research processes and products to increase the ROI of all of Consumer Research by collaborating with internal partners. Serving as a passionate, vocal champion for customers and getting to “the Why”.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong technical understanding of consumer research and the research process across both quantitative and qualitative methods with prior experience working with clients to scope and execute a variety of consumer research projects. Demonstrated client service orientation, building client and stakeholder relationships and a sense of urgency on exceeding client needs. Experience in data analysis, developing insights from data and the ability to succinctly communicate those insights. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with that ability to balance feedback and direction from multiple stakeholders. Ability to influence stakeholders and clients. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Ability to navigate a quickly evolving and at times, nebulous environment. Impeccable attention to detail, strong discipline and proactivity related to managing timelines and budgets while manage multiple priorities at one time and prioritize effectively. Ability to define the art of the possible as it relates to growth opportunities.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in business, social sciences, psychology, or analytics/statistics. Graduate degree is a plus. Minimum of 5-8 years of industry experience. #LI-EB1
