Job Description:
Responsible for the integration and coordination of activities across multiple sites around the U.S. to achieve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization in performing its mission. Position involves broad aspects of product development, production, integration, test, deployment, and lifecycle support for Flight Test Instrumentation systems. It requires planning and managing across multiple functional and geographic areas within a matrix organization.
Essential Functions:
L3Harris program management support in coordinating efforts with the Program Management team across various geographic locations in support of Test Instrumentation planning and execution for U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP).
Interface with and provide direction to Integrated Project Team (IPT) members from various organizations within L3Harris to assure customer commitments and objectives are met and program assets are effectively managed.
Maintain strategic communications with the customer.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Plan, execute, and control programs and projects to meet Range & Test Solutions program scope, cost, schedule, and technical performance goals. Will have profit/loss responsibility of assigned programs.
Manage program objectives, plans, schedules, upcoming events, risks, issues, changes, and current performance status.
Manage and participate in the preparation of proposals and Business and Program plans.
Effectively work with the IPTs to develop plans of execution and statements of problems, as they arise, with identification and assessment of alternatives, recommendation of solutions, and implementation of the authorized solution through the relevant program process.
Maintain constant awareness of program objectives, plans, schedules, upcoming events, risks, issues, changes and change-control, and current performance status.
Maintain constant vigilance in all day-to-day activities to assure proactive management of risk, issues, and changes.
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills and be able to work effectively with diverse teams and various levels within the organization.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint
Up to 50% of travel may be expected.
Candidate must be able to relocate to Anaheim, CA and work onsite
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical discipline and at least 9 years of prior relevant experience is required. Or a graduate degree with 7 years of prior experience.
9 years’ Experience in all phases of project and program management, from proposal and ensuing negotiations through contract award, project planning, project execution and closeout.
7 years’ Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts.
Ability to travel 25%
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with aerospace/defense programs in progressively increasing responsible leadership positions. Knowledge with the FBM program would be strongly desired.
Formal training in Project Management, as well as PMP certification.
