The expected annual salary range for this role is $88499.97 - $129799.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:
The Panelboard & Switchboard (P&S) Lead Design Engineer is responsible for the achievement of standardization of engineering systems across the product line operations and will develop best-in-class products and features through product research, design, design validation, deployment, and maintenance in accordance with market needs. This role is also responsible for providing technical expertise on switchboard and panelboard products.
This lead role will support the operational and satellite sites in regard to the design accuracy of existing products and the launch of new products and features.
Develop, design, validate, and manage the implementation of new best-in-class product designs.
Translate internal and external customer requirements into measurable performance criteria.
Assist in the development of the schedule and budget for new product development projects
Develop technical communications: datasheets, interface control documents, test plans, etc.
Design, model, and test product prototypes
Maintain and improve existing products through design and competitive analysis
Work with internal and external customers and suppliers to develop new features and design opportunities for products within the product line scope and charter.
Integrate best practices to deliver a high quality, best-in-class design.
Ensure compliance to all applicable national and local electrical codes and standards as they relate to the products (UL, NEC, NEMA, OSPHD).
Participate in codes and standards organizations as necessary. (UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, CANENA)
Represent the product line as a lead technical consultant and resource
Support the roll-out of new P&S standard designs.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of design experience
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of design experience with LV (low voltage) electrical distribution equipment
Design experience with UL 891 and UL 67 products
Experience with Autodesk Inventor
Design for Six Sigma Green/Black belt
Knowledge of Product Life-cycle management systems and their structure
Predictive analysis such as CFD (thermal flow), FEA (stress analysis), and electro-magnetic
Fabrication methods for sheetmetal, plastic, copper, and aluminum
Proper bus joint design
Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment
Proficiency in Engineering software/tools (AutoCAD, Enovia)
Up to 10% travel
