Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Job Description
What you’ll do?
Own the general accounting, monthly/ quarterly close procedures & reporting process for legal entities within Central Europe
Be the Trial Balance owner for all legal entities and branches related to your countries for both STAT and GAAP
Drive timeliness & accuracy in financial closing & reporting and manage related communications within all stakeholders in the country as well as the CoE's
Partner with Finance CoE's to ensure excellence of operational & transactional accounting including statutory and tax filing & audit processes.
Ensure the quality of account reconciliations and B/S analysis maintaining the integrity of the accounts.
Drive overall ownership and accountability regarding Controllership initiatives across Central Europe, including key controllership metrics (account reconciliations, edit checks, statutory financial statement filings and audit requirements, etc.)
Interpret and implement GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and be the compliance focal point for accounting issues.
Maintain accounting, financial reporting, financial control, and information systems to ensure adequate records, appropriate authorizations of transactions, and safeguard assets.
Manage relationship with external & internal auditors ensuring compliance with local stat & GE GAP policies
Integrate and manage our interns in our subregion
Lean leader for GPEUR regions, gather initiatives and lead them to success
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)?
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Finance prior experience in audit, accounting and/or controllership
Knowledge of US-GAAP rules and applications
Experience in either SAP or Oracle ERP
Demonstrated financial analysis skills and knowledge of internal controls process
Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues
Fluent English knowledge is a must
