Job Description Summary
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer performs engineering associated with the manufacturing process. In this role you will make a lasting impact on the operations of the plant by enabling manufacturing uptime, cost reduction, and increased product quality. Your contributions will range from creating and modifying inspection routines on CMM and other inspection equipment to learning new technologies to lead continuous improvement within our metrology processes.
The standard working hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:30pm
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Ownership for Metrology
Develop in-depth expertise in the area of Metrology (become an expert in GDT, programming, gage RR, etc.)
Coordinate the design, development and implementation of complex CMM programs according to the drawing and specification requirements
Machinery selection along with development or improvement concepts
Drive the qualification of new measurement equipment
Develop appropriate systems for document storage, access and review pertaining to global customer accounts
Design and develop new processes to support new product introductions
Drive efforts to support and meet production schedules, including productivity, quality, and Six Sigma initiatives
Utilize Lean principles and participate in action workouts to improve product cost, throughput and quality
Display a dedicated, team-oriented work ethic with personal ownership while having a goal-focused mindset
Have flexibility in hours/shift of work; ability to flex schedule for training and/or shop coverage needs
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Desired Characteristics:
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Bachelor’s Degree from in Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical/Industrial engineering from an ABET accredited college or university is preferred
Knowledge of inspection methods and tools used to determine product acceptance
CMM Programming experience
Prior process/manufacturing knowledge of Airfoils and Aviation High Pressure Turbine blade manufacturing
Hands-on shop floor experience with experience providing technical direction
