  Discover’s Internal Audit Department (IAD) is committed to providing insightful perspectives, leveraging specialized talent, and delivering a refreshing experience to all of our stakeholders. IAD is viewed as an integral part of Discover’s risk management framework and is valued by management as a trusted partner.

  The Risk Management Internal Audit team is seeking energetic, committed and experienced professionals that are looking to grow their career within audit. This team assesses the risk management framework as designed by second line of defense Corporate Risk Management for consistency with regulatory expectations to provide the Board with assurance of Discover’s operations and control effectiveness. This team also validates regulatory matters (e.g., consent orders) by providing independent assurance to the Board on the design and effectiveness of management’s regulatory action plans. Audit testing and validation work is performed in a dynamic environment across a variety of regulatory topics and assesses risk management frameworks, controls, governance, execution and oversight.

  This position is ideal for self-starters with bank auditor experience, regulatory examiner experience or banking industry experience within risk management.

  Operational Risk Management including, but not limited to,

  Vendor Risk Management

  Change Risk Management

  Process, Risk and Control Oversight

  Enterprise Risk Management including, but not limited to,

  Risk Appetite and Metrics

  Committee Governance

  Policy and Procedure Oversight

  Technology Risk Management

  Credit Risk Management

  Regulatory Matters

  Responsibilities:

  Leads client audits. Develops risk assessments align to standards. Completes and documents audit fieldwork and testing. Identifies potential findings for discussion with management. Discusses findings with clients and develops action plans. Completes review of audit work of assigned staff.

  Communicates statuses of audits and findings to clients. Partners with clients to develop solutions to identified findings. Interacts effectively with technology, operations, and financial auditors to ensure coverage of audit entity.

  Develops and educates team members. Defines expectations with audit staff.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor's Degree in Applied Sciences, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

  2+ years of experience in Applied Sciences, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, Computer Science, Data Science, or related experience

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Strong written and verbal communication skills

  Experience validating regulatory matters (e.g., Consent Orders, MRIAs, MRAs, etc.)

  Audit experience within Banking, Accounting / Consulting, Regulatory Agencies, or Financial Institutions

  Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or willing to obtain

  Additional Certifications:

  CRCM, CPA, , CFE, CAMS, American Bankers Association professional certificates

  Six Sigma, STEM, or Business, Risk, Compliance, or Audit related certifications

  Compensation:

  The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
