Job description:
The Senior Manager, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Engineering will lead a department of 15-30 staff who consult with Capgemini clients in areas of manufacturing process, manufacturing quality, supply chain management, project and change management, and other operational disciplines. Engineers in the department will include consultants working in a variety of industries including bio-pharma, aerospace, automotive, consumer products, energy and chemicals and will work closely with the Senior Director of Operations, Manufacturing and Quality to grow the department by supporting tactical demands, while also redefining the department to provide high-value strategic services to clients. You will participate in hiring and onboarding, training and career development, pre-sales and account planning, sales support and solutioning and technical guidance of engagements. Employees are deployed at multiple locations around the US and Canada. Occasional travel to Capgemini sites or client sites may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Keep close contact with staff, provide career mentorship, annual goal-setting, annual performance evaluations, compensation reviews, immigration support, and routine followup regarding staff questions or concerns.
Identify and define training and development opportunities and ‘learning paths’ for staff in these fields.
Supporting interviewing, hiring and onboarding process for new hires in your department.
Support Sales and Presales teams in crafting and solutioning deals – ensuring the appropriate staffing mix and team/governance structure and reviewing the deal financials.
Coordinate client engagements to ensure staff and client happiness, improve team engagement and efficiency, help to bring up and resolve blocking issues, ensure contractual commitments and SLA’s are satisfied
Participate in strategic prioritization of new service offerings; collaborate with global centers of excellence and professional communities to develop assets, accelerators, demonstrators
Engage with account teams to transform our delivery model towards more high-value ground-breaking services, changing the way our clients operate to enable sustained efficiencies.
Collaborate with Capgemini’s Sustainability Initiative to define and champion sustainability solutions relevant to clients in the North America region; and support our staff to up-skill in support of delivering the same.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
10 years of work experience including.
5 years in continuous, discrete or hybrid manufacturing environment(s).
5 years in one or more of these fields - Manufacturing process engineering and/or validation, Manufacturing quality or Project and change management
3 years in a position responsible for performance and compensation management
Proficiency in manufacturing and quality methods
Proficient in project management methodologies
Experience in Aerospace, Defense, Energy and/or Automotive industry
Familiarity and interest in sustainable manufacturing and operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, curious and enthusiastic approach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Authorized to work for Capgemini in the US
Desired characteristics:
Awareness of modern IT enablers in a manufacturing context (Industry 4.0 – PLM, MES, SCADA, IIOT, AR/VR, Predictive Maintenance, Data Analytics, etc)
Lean Six Sigma certification or experience
Experience with ISO9000 quality systems
Experience in a professional services environment
Experience managing geographically diverse teams
Project management training, certification or experience
