We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our high-performing Global People Team working in our Employee Relations organization supporting Canada! You will provide majority Employee Relations and some Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) support, pivoting to the right work at the right time. You will be counted on to advise and influence leadership on all aspects of people management and leadership and build exceptional HR consulting capabilities that ensure UKG continues to be a great place to work.
About the Role:
As the Lead Employee Relations Consultant, you will cover our total Canada Operations whose client-base includes Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Product, Innovation and Cloud (EPIC), Global Services, and General & Administrative (G&A). You will work closely with Management, Employee Relations, and our HRBPs in the implementation of corporate HR programs. You will support employees across multiple provinces acting as the subject matter expert on provincial employment standards for the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and New Brunswick. Most of the employee-base is in Quebec (Montreal) and Ontario (Toronto). The successful candidate must be bi-lingual (English and Canadian French) and work on-site in Montreal.
Role and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will encompass a wide array of impactful areas, including:
• Employee Relations Expertise: Serve as the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Employee Relations within Canada Operations. Handle performance management, investigations, terminations, employee/customer complaints, labor relations, and policy administration.
• HRBP Support: Provide comprehensive HR support, actively participating in projects and various HR-related initiatives.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Take a proactive approach to address the root causes of employee concerns, implementing systematic solutions that foster a positive work environment.
• Strategic Partnering: Collaborate closely with leadership teams and the HRBPs to provide strategic guidance on all aspects of people management and leadership.
• Organizational Optimization: Work in conjunction with management and our HRBPs to enhance organizational performance, talent management, coaching, employee development, change management, workforce planning, and succession planning.
• Data-Driven Insights: Compile and analyze statistical reports to extract meaningful insights on trends, which will be shared with both business stakeholders and the HRBPs/Organization Effectiveness Leadership team.

Qualifications
Basic:
• Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in Human Resources/Employee Relations
• Bi-lingual English and French Canadian - written and spoken
• Extensive knowledge of Canadian employment law, with emphasis on provincial employment standards for the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and New Brunswick
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
• Experience in organizational design, coaching, team building, compensation, employee relations, training, and HR program implementation
• Collaborative and customer-focused with the ability to build trust and develop strong relationships at all levels of the organization
• Comfortable challenging the status-quo
• Ability to influence and drive priorities with senior management
• Software/high tech industry experience preferred
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%
• Prior work experience driving strategic priorities influencing the business
