Job Description
An employer in San Diego is looking for a Lead ETL QA Engineer. This person will be sitting in Mexico, and will be joining the Enterprise Data Architecture and Platform organization based in Queretaro, MX. This Lead QA and will be part of a team that is essential in defining and delivering the Data and Analytics based insights that can be leveraged by business teams throughout the retail organization. This person will be responsible for working closely Scrum Masters, business stakeholders, data architects, QA engineers and DevOps engineers to QA data and ETL pipelines to bring new data into a data warehouse. This person must have the ability to understand custom SQL data pipelines and modern ways of automating data pipelines using cloud based and on premise technologies as well as the ability to understand end to end data integration requirements, and identifying and tackling complex problems within the code. This person will be responsible for testing SQL pipelines within AWS and Snowflake cloud infrastructure, clearly documenting and communicating identification of issues to the team, and providing QA best practices. This person can sit remotely in the Mexico.
Skills and Requirements
-5+ years of ETL and automation testing
-Strong background writing complex SQL queries, ability to understand the code, and identifying complex problems
-5+ years of experience with various QA methodologies: smoke testing, regression, UAT, functional, integration, automation etc.
-Comfortable with Python programming, ability to understand the code and make modifications
-Strong collaboration and communication across the team, ability to work heavily with Data Architects and Data Engineers and Business Stakeholders
-Ability to provide QA guidance and leadership on best practices
-Experience with documentation, and working with Agile processes -Test automation tools like Selenium or Robot Automation framework
-Experience with Python for test automation
-Working knowledge of different unstructured data types
-Knowledge of AWS - S3, SQS - or other cloud environments (Azure, GCP)
-Knowledge of cloud based data warehouse, like Snowflake null
