  Job Description:

  We are looking for a highly creative, passionate, and driven digital experience strategist to join our team, focusing on core Discover Card journeys within our mobile app and web properties. We are looking for someone who can develop human-centered experiences that provide personalized, clear, helpful, and inclusive digital plus human solutions for our customers. You combine exceptional craft in working through the details of a visual design with good problem-solving and communication skills. You are at your best when collaborating with designers, researchers, product owners and developers to assist in creating designs that marry the best of user, business, and technology thinking. You are detail oriented, and you empathize and advocate for the user.

  Major Responsibilities:

  Develops and/or improves customer user experiences at various points of our customer life cycle.

  Leads user experience design projects to ensure cohesive user experiences throughout customers journeys.

  Leads the creation of prototypes, user research, and the translation of research and business requirements into user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity user interface mockups.

  Leads UX design project with agencies to develop prototypes, socialize and execute on user research, and effectively translate research and business requirements for agencies to develop user flows, wireframes, and high–fidelity user interface mockups.

  Partners with brand partners to create digital experiences based within our brand guidelines.

  Partners with front end and backend developers to translate interactive prototypes into code.

  Creates responsive designs that work everywhere.

  Monitors the competitive landscape to understand customer expectations and to spot opportunities for innovation.

  Responsible for monitoring our digital properties health and leading maintenance activities to improve the customer experience.

  Continuously works to identify opportunities to improve the customers experience by leveraging research, data and customer feedback.

  Identifies and resolves risks and vulnerabilities detected in the digital environment through working with technology, legal and compliance partners to make sure critical requirements are met.

  Effectively leads collaboration across teams; not just gathering business requirements but support in defining them.

  Analyze VOC and customer response data to the various customer journeys, report on KPIs and continuously evolve usability to open our doors to everyone.

  Qualifications:

  At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  Bachelors in Marketing, Graphic Design, Business

  6+ years of experience in Digital Marketing, Business Strategy, and/or User Experience. Design project management across mobile applications and web platforms

  In Lieu of Education:

  8+ years of experience with Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Business Strategy, Web and/or User Experience or related field.Preferred Qualifications:

  If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  1+ years of experience in credit card/financial services, advertising agency, project management or related field.

  Understanding of the value of design systems, reuse of design elements and scalability; knowing when and how to continually improve the system.

  A design thinker who looks holistically for solutions that span the entire customer journey and are passionate and knowledgeable about new and emerging design trends.

  Understands user experience design, research, and content strategy processes and practices to a level that enables strong communication with peers.

  Experience applying Accessibility best practices (WCAG)

  Experience with narrative storytelling and creatively visualizing and communicating research findings and data

  Strong ability to communicate UX design decisions and UX best practices.

  Experience working with multiple team members and stakeholders (business, product, engineering).

  Experience with visual design, graphic design and multimedia tools, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma.

  An array of design skills, which might include information architecture, user research, rapid prototyping, visual design and strategic design methods (such as design thinking)

  Strong understanding and commitment to usability and user-centered design principles/methods; including experience in a variety of usability evaluation techniques such as usability testing, contextual interviews and heuristic evaluations.

  Experience with Agile/SAFE methodologies

  Experience owning large-scale projects, communicating timelines, and executing independently.

  Compensation:

  The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
