GEICO is looking for an accomplished, customer obsessed, and results oriented Lead Data Visualization Designer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing interactive dashboards and data visualizations that effectively communicate complex data insights to a variety of audiences. Develop usable and accessible data visualizations solutions across a wide set of uses cases. Contributes data visualization and interactive components to the GEICO design system, Hue.
This role will be on our Enable Design Team supporting our Data and ML/AI Platform teams.
This is a hybrid position, requiring on-site presence for 3 days a week (if within 1 hour from location) at one of the following locations:
Chevy Chase, MDBay Area, CANew York City, NYIndianapolis, INWashington, DCChicago, ILSan Jose, CAFredericksburg/ Richmond, VADallas, TXSeattle, WAJob ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data visualization needs and requirements.Translates complex ideas into visualizations that are accurate, engaging, and effectively communicate the story behind the data.Optimize data visualizations for performance and usability across various platforms.Contribute new components to GEICO's design system, Hue.Manages through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definition.Advocates for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, prototyping, research sessions, and user testing.Facilitates and participates in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs.Stay up to date with the latest trends and techniques in data visualization.Delivers design specifications and assets for acceptance, development, and delivery to market in partnership with engineering.Teach, mentor and guide designers.Basic Qualifications:7+ years of experience with User Experience designPreferred Qualifications:Experience designing for cross channel experiencesEffective communication and storytelling skillsProficiency with design tools (i.e., Figma) to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teamsFamiliarity with working in an established design systemProven experience in designing interactive data visualizations and dashboardsStrong understanding of data analysis and data modeling conceptsAbility to translate complex data into accessible visualizations for a non-technical audience.Experience designing for data visualization frameworks e.g. D3, Rechart, Chart.js etc.Annual Salary
$118,000.00 - $207,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
