Your Role:
Dow Jones is looking to expand its Data Governance team. The role is flexible to either remote or hybrid work models. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining technologies and platforms to support company-wide Data Governance processes and frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance. You will report to our Data Governance Director and work closely with technical teams across the organization to implement technology solutions for data governance best practices and ensure that data assets are well-managed and used responsibly.
Responsibilities
Deploy and administer connectors to backend database systems to populate the metadata management platform (Collibra) and the master data management platform (Semarchy)
Enhance existing and build new data models for reference data and master data management
Support the technical implementations and development of the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud and Semarchy xDM Platforms
Coordinate with external vendors and partner with the technical integration of applications and systems
Monitor and conduct software platform upgrades and perform regression testing
Implement end-to-end lineage and impact capabilities
Create BI reports to monitor and audit data governance processes and policies
Your Expertise
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Administration, or related field
4+ years of experience in an Information Technology field
Experience with data management technologies such as SQL Server, Postgres, Snowflake, relational database design, and data warehousing
Advanced SQL coding skills
Advanced data modeling skills
Experience with BI visualization software, Tableau or Power BI
Familiarity with Python, Agile Project Management and Cloud architecture
