Lead CFD Application Engineer, Belgium
At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.The Lead CFD Application Engineer role offers an opportunity to join an exciting and highly motivated team, where your knowledge of CFD will be used to help our customers succeed in advanced CFD simulations in the aerospace, automotive, turbomachinery, industrial, marine industries and more. Using Cadence's suite of CFD tools you will develop creative and innovative solutions for customers, benchmark product capabilities for a wide range of flow regimes and phenomena, advocate for best practices, and collaborate with members of the sales and product teams. Job DutiesUtilize Cadence's simulation technologies to solve industry problems in Automotive, Aerospace, Marine and other industry verticals. A strong focus on Acoustics is expected for some applications.Interface with Cadence customers to develop and support simulation related workflows.Perform customer benchmarks to validate Cadence's software products for industrial applications including correlation with published test dataCollaborate with Cadence's customers to develop and validate CFD workflows and solutions that meet or exceed their needsContinuously push the technology envelope and advance the state-of-the-art in industrial application of simulation and related technologies which can include joint industry/government research activitiesCommunicate and collaborate with the Sales, Research and Development, and Marketing teams on customer requirements and feedback from support engagementsParticipate in customer meetings related to benchmarks, technical support, and other related activities virtually or in-person as neededCollaborate with Cadence R&D to test and validate new capabilities.Publish papers highlighting key industry solutions and advantages and generate associated marketing collateral.Create technical presentations and reports documenting key findings, project activities and customer feedbackCreate knowledge collateral and documentation related to customer education including articles, videos, and technical presentationsProvide technical support to Cadence customers for various applicationsDeliver customer and internal training classes virtually or in-person as needed
The ideal candidate should have:
Education: MS in mechanical, aerospace, or marine engineering. Doctoral degree preferredTheoretical background in aero-acoustics; Exposure to industrial acoustics applications is an added plus.Languages: Fluent in English, French is a plusCommunication skills: Excellent presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and via email. Experience with Cadence CFD tools (Fine, Fidelity, CharLES) is preferred but not essential.Experience with CFD mesh generation and solver tools with aerospace, automotive, industrial, turbomachinery, or marine applicationsExperience in scripting languages like PythonCustomer service oriented with strong problem-solving skillsAttention to detail with the ability to organize and prioritizeTeam player with a positive attitude, willingness to offer and execute ideas and solutions to enhance processes within an evolving environment Location
Travel to Brussels office is required once per week.
