Job Description
Position Summary:
The AP Accountancy function is responsible for accurate and timely accounting of supplier invoices with regards to accounts payable of the CTD EMEA entities in Horsham (UK), Basel (Switzerland), Rheinfelden and Weil am Rhein (Germany).
This role will work closely with the Accounts Payable Manager, CTD EMEA, the divisional Accounting and Controlling, the corporate Accounting & Controlling teams and the EMEA FP&A team.
Success in this role will be demonstrated through improved finance and accounting processes, on-time and in-full month end processes, and financial delivery to hit our growth & profitability targets and enhance our services for our customers, our company and ultimately the patients we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Day to day processing of all supplier invoicesProcessing of invoices and manual inputting of freight billingCreation of pay runs on a weekly basisCalculating different accruals for month end processesLiaising with suppliers, interaction and assistance with other members of the finance teamReview and enhance accounts payable activities to ensure all accounting activities are well supported, documented and audit ready at all timeUnder guidance from the AP Manager CTD EMEA review and improve accounting activities and controls that are in adherence with SOX, US GAAP and statutory lawsCompleting and managing other projects and ad hoc requests as per business needDemonstrating and promoting the company vision, values and competencies, e.g. the Thermo Fisher Scientific 4-I values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Demonstrable proficiency in the following areas: accounts payable, monthly, quarterly and annual closing and financial reportingPassion for finance & accounting activitiesThe ability to identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process ImprovementStrong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skillsStrong experience in building organisational relationships with peers and operating partners to implement compliance of finance and accounting processesAbility to manage multiple assignments, possessing good judgment and prioritisation skills between projects and time requirementsCommitment to continuous learning, to show career progression and development, and to seek out opportunities to stretch capabilitiesGood skills within MS Excel is requiredFurther IT skills such as CODA, Job Router are beneficialGerman language skills would be advantageousAble to commute to our offices in Horsham
Education/ Experience:
Apprenticeship in Finance or Accounting3+ years proven experience in Accounts Payable or other Operational Finance roles
