About the role:
As an Instrument Specialist I, you will join our dynamic and collaborative Advanced Instrument Support (AIS) team. You will be responsible for:
Assisting with the preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of LC-MS systems (primarily Shimadzu UHPLC/HPLC systems) and other laboratory equipment
Documenting and reporting all service activities, expenses, and inventory in a timely and accurate manner
Maintaining and controlling the repair parts inventory and ensuring the availability of spare parts
Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and training to bioanalytical chemists and other personnel on the proper use and operation of instruments
Participating in the monitoring and evaluation of new instrumentation and technologies and providing feedback and recommendations
Assisting with laboratory renovation, setup, and safety-related activities as needed
Assisting team members with software validation and lab testing duties
Performing other related duties as assigned by the AIS manager
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field
A strong interest and aptitude for learning troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
Experience with moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
Experience with laboratory analytical instrumentation, especially LC-MS systems
Experience working within a GLP-regulated environment and following good documentation practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team
