Lead level role that investigates and maintains complex property claims. Determine liability, secure information, reviews coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims. Demonstrate experience to perform all areas of claim adjustment activities with the highest degree of competency and independence. You will report to a Large Loss Manager.
Compensation Minimum:$84,000 / year
Compensation Maximum:$139,000 / year

Primary AccountabilitiesInvestigate origin and cause of high exposure claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, and public personnel. Check for prior claims and recognize environmental exposures.Participate in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure.Conduct on-site inspections when needed, evaluate damages and handle claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply to all parties for assigned losses. Interpret claim history coverages.Provide all parties with claim process and status.Be a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.Specialized Knowledge & Skills RequirementsHandle 1st and 3rd party, multi-line complex claims across our operating territories.Demonstrate experience providing customer-focused solutions or service.Knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.Applied knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.Must pass bilingual assessments in reading, understanding, writing, and conversing fluently in both Spanish and English.LicensesValid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing.Travel RequirementsUp to 10%.Catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable.Physical RequirementsAscend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Visit areas that have a higher hazard than a typical office such as customer homes, body shops, or other locations.Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in different environments including tight and confined spaces.Adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.Working ConditionsLow/high temperatures and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.Noisy environments, hazardous conditions, and poor ventilation.Requirements:You will bring 5+ years of Property Adjusting experience and Xactimate skills.Your offer will be made contingent on the results of applicable background checks and signing a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions.Sponsorship will not be considered for this position.You will be employed by AFICS, Inc., an affiliate of American Family Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.
Additional Job Information
You will handle complex homeowner property field claims and be a remote employee based in Dallas or Austin, TX (or between those locations). A company fleet vehicle is provided with the position. You will not report regularly to an office, but will work within your assigned territory and may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.
