What do our Mechanical Specialists do?
The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Specialist (I) is to participate in mechanical application operations and aid in the maintenance/repair of equipment in a manner that meets company/client expectations and regulatory compliance. This team member fosters the SOLitude culture, value, and service performance standards.
Learn and conduct mechanical control applicationsObserve and Identify aquatic plant speciesAid in the mobilization/demobilization of equipmentAssist in the staging of environmental control measures per project/permit requirementsOperate SOLitude and rental machinery effectively - watercraft, aquatic weed harvester, hydro-rake, loader, etc.Log all appropriate project-specific information in Mechanical log book - dates, management areas, material collected, # of loads, etc.Provide Project Coordinator with timely project progression updatesAid in the training of new employees on operating/maintaining mechanical equipment in the field.Support the Mechanical Division with maintaining/repairing equipment in a group settingLog all maintenance and repair work performed on mechanical machinery in the affiliated log bookSubmit all company authorized purchase receipts and work hours in an accurate, organized and timely fashionTravel and lodge at various locations, project-specific
What do you need?
High school diploma or GED1-2 years of experience in the mechanical application fieldComfortable with on-water equipment applicationsMechanically inclinedSelf-motivated - Able to work independently or with a groupOrganized and detail-orientedPositive attitudeTrustworthy and reliableProficient at communicatingOpen-minded to new ideasValid driver's license with a good driving recordAbility to travel as neededComplete licensing/certification programs as necessary (OSHA 10, Hoisting, etc.)Must pass pre-employment background screenMust possess a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle record search
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear, and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and feel.
Pay Transparency Statement
Base pay range: $16.42 - $24.56 / hour In addition to the base pay, a Colleague working in this role who has completed training may be eligible to earn additional monetary compensation including overtime, incentive and/or commission pay. Total annual earning potential may vary based on performance, assigned routes and achieving Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs").
