The DMPK department provides a range of services for clients, providing data to establish the Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion of a range of radiolabelled and non-radiolabelled compounds.
As an Apprentice you will provide assistance in the performing and data recording of aspects of laboratory assays, both in vitro and in vivo , in compliance with appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines.
Duties include routine procedures and housekeeping responsibilities associated with the day to day running of the laboratory areas, such as;
Maintenance, cleaning and calibration of equipment
Assisting in the accurate recording and checking of raw data
Assisting with the stock check, ordering & storage of consumable items & chemicals
Disposal of laboratory waste, expired solutions or study samples/materials
Performing fridge and freezer defrosts, cleaning, decontamination & inventories
Preparation of reagents for use in laboratory assays & COSHH assessments
Documentation of Quality Events (deviations) using the Veeva QMS system
Identifying opportunities for improvement in operational processes and contribution to the delivery of these improvements
What you'll receive:
You'll undertake a Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with HNC in Applied Science over the course of 24 months.
You will study for a Level 4 Science Qualification
A chance to Act as an Apprentice Ambassador across Yorkshire for Science roles

What are we looking for:
An A-level in Biology or Chemistry is preferred but not essential. Relevant work Experience or a level 3 science-based qualification is also beneficial.
A passion for science
A willingness to learn
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Great attention to detail
Good communication skills
Time management and prioritisation skills in order to balance the demands of work and college
