About This Role:
The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology within the College ofVeterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Laboratory Technician.This position will be responsible for a surveillance project of ticksand tick-borne diseases of Kansas. Responsibilities include collectionof ticks from public areas across Kansas, identification and sorting ofticks by species, tick-borne pathogen testing by PCR and dataorganization and collation.
Responsibilities include:
- - Perform diagnostic testing of tick specimens - Utilize scientific equipment and research protocols for ongoing research - Focus on using, managing and maintaining field equipment use to gather and generate data - Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment - Reports data collected directly to the supervisor
