The Integrated Genetics Division of Labcorp is seeking a Cytogenetics Laboratory Operations Assistant to join their team in Research Triangle Park, NC! This position will be responsible for supporting the Cytogenetics microarray laboratory with various duties including: requisition checking, inventory, communicating with various departments on status of specimens, and other general support duties.
The schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Responsibilities:
Requisition checking: ensure Cytogenetics testing is ordered correctly and patient information is correctly documented
General lab support duties
Inventory management
Effectively communicate with client services, genetic counselors and other Cytogenetics teams.
Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and think critically regarding testing
Partner closely with leadership and customers to set and drive strategy, goals, process, and metrics
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Associates degree highly preferred
Previous experience in the medical field highly desired
Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
