This is an on site job - that needs to be available to work in different shifts and days according to plant needs.
What you will do?
As a member of GM's Human Resources Group you are responsible for Labor Relations in a plant environment. You perform administrative functions as required to support hourly employees in a manufacturing organization. You maintain personnel records and completes transactions. You investigate and resolve labor disputes. You provide direction to production managers of hourly employees on Union/GM Local Agreements. You perform work independently with supervisor director to handle unusual situations.
Responsibilities
You will provide management representation in administering the provisions of agreements between union and management.
- You will counsel management in the interpretation of agreements and act as management representative in dealing with the union.
- You will exercise independent discernment within general policies and procedures established by agreements; receiving some direct mentorship from supervisor.
- You will advise management and other plant personnel on matters related to union management relationships.
- You will administer contractual provisions in area of responsibility.
- You will maintain records pertinent to the labor relations activity.
- You will communicate with management on developments which could interrupt operations.
- You will play a principal role in local negotiations.
- You will share regular labor relations updates.
- You will drive the activities of various departments involved in resolving employee grievances.
- You will conduct special investigations as needed.
Additional Description

Bachelor degree in Business or similar
Advanced English level
