Managerial and Leadership duties and responsibilities:
Supervises the day to day production and non-production activities of the local departmental employees.
Assigns appropriately trained personnel and ensures sufficient number of staff are available to complete the workload.
Has the ability to lead globally project initiatives, and manage multiple projects as well as multiple teams of people. Has the ability and scientific knowledge to successfully meet with senior operational leaders and Medical affairs to close out questions or processes that require their approval.
Communicates corporate vision and plans to create common vision. Share pertinent information from management committee meetings with GLSES.
Individual is responsible for maintaining his/her complete up-to-date training file. Individual is responsible for ensuring he/she is trained and training is documented prior to performing a task. Individual is accountable for any deficiencies found in his/her training file
Participates in Customer Audits when required.
Provide a monthly report to the Manager

Supervision
Schedules department personnel appropriately to match the demands of the daily workflow within the supervised area.
Provides direct supervision to employees, including assignments, technical and behavioral performance counseling.
Proficient at managing multiple GLSES disciplines, or managing correlation reports, while consistently demonstrating the ability to lead teams in meetings writing agendas, assigning action items and keeping staff accountable, capturing minutes, and providing guidance and leadership to GLSES staff.
Identifies process improvement opportunities that will help to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency and provides leadership in implementing change.
Follow budget and supervise area to budgetary guidelines.
Prepares a monthly report of activities for the GLSES management.
Outline scope of projects and resources involving GLSES staff or the laboratory in general. Monitor progress of projects and coach resources in project management.
Ensure the direction and monitoring of metrics report and coordinate interactions with other dpt (laboratory, procurement, resource management)
Performance Monitoring and Evaluation
Reports performance and results against targets and global standards.
Ensures regulatory compliance within his/her supervision.
Participates in and supports client visits, audits and inquiries, as necessary, to ensure complete fulfillment of requests and interests.
Delegate the research on customer or internal inquiries as appropriate. Interface with customers and guide others in handling customer interactions effectively.

Personnel
Recruits, trains, and contributes to retention efforts of employees.
Conducts technical training and development of staff as needed.
Supports the department manager in assessing and meeting the resource needs.
Supports the development of plans to meet future resource needs.
Evaluates the performance of employees.
Works with department manager to establish training plans for the supervised staff.
Supports the manager in employee evaluations and development plans.
Responsible for employee development, define meaningful goals that strengthen skill sets of direct reports, it is also expected that poor performance will be documented and communicated in a timely manner preferably as soon as possible. Supervisors will then work with staff to ensure evaluations are completed as required by corporate time lines
Develop subordinates. Conduct career planning, assist in securing training opportunities.
